I am very passionate about the work I do. Underlying all my work is a commitment towards respect for the person I am working with. Whether that be in a counselling, supervisory or teaching capacity I feel strongly that respect is a value I regard highly in all my work. My role is to facilitate your journey of self discovery, which is a priviledged position to be in.
Another value that is of utmost importance to my work is collegiality. Working together creates the best results. I bring my knowledge, experience, and skills to the work and you bring your understanding of what it's like to be you, both of which is of central importance to the work we do together.
I currently run my own private practice, in which I work with adults with a range of difficulties.
I work as a supervisor, both with counsellors and church leaders.
I also work as a tutor at a counselling college, teaching on the BA Counselling programmes.
I started my counselling training nearly twenty years ago to assist me in my role at the time as a Samaritans Listening Volunteer. I quickly developed a passion for learning psychology, and have continued learning ever since. Most recently I have completed my MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2021.
I worked as a therapist for a christian organisation for three years, and set up my own private practice following that. I have worked with a range of different people, predominantly adults, with different needs including depression, trauma, and complex mental health conditions.
In 2019 I completed my PG diploma in supervision, and have experience in working as a group supervisor and on a one to one basis with counsellors.
